Dubrovnik Airport is one of the nine airports in Croatia and is the third busiest airport in Croatia. It is located in Čilipi, 22 kilometers from Dubrovnik. The terminal at Dubrovnik Airport is the second largest in Croatia after the one in Zagreb. The construction of an economic zone and a four-star hotel is planned next to the terminal. In May 2010, a new passenger terminal was opened at the Dubrovnik airport, on which aerobridges were installed, making this airport the only Croatian airport that allows passengers to have a dry transition from the building to the aircraft. Below the runway of the Dubrovnik airport is the attractive Đurovića cave, a unique karst cave, which has been reopened to the public since July 2009. According to some estimates, it is about 5000 years old.
